Part XI of the Police Act 1967 has enabled the establishment of the Police Cadet Force (PKP) in anywhere in Malaysia as orderedby the Minister of Home Affairs.

Police Cadet Force consists of:
1. Senior PKP
2. Junior Grade Officer of PKP
3. PKP members

Establishment of PKP performed in secondary schools only to be divided;
1. PKP Boys
2. PKP Girls

  Members of the PKP (Member and Officer Ranks Low PKP) will be selected among secondary school students. Senior officers are also PKP school teachers (Education Services Officer).

PKP is an organization affiliated to the Royal Malaysia Police(PDRM), but its members are not police officers according to the definition contained in the Police Act 1967. Government support to establish the PKP has been accepted and implemented since the early 1970's.

This has resulted in the establishment of PKP close relationshipbetween the police with students, teachers, administrators, schooland their parents in line with the Police: Friendly, Fast and Correct.

Students are exposed to the affairs of the police and thus tobecome aware of their responsibility to society to become citizenswho are disciplined, useful and meritorious as they grow up.
